It's probably this, or something close to this: http://vgmdb.net/album/20953

That's the CD that was bundled with the Japanese version, as far as I can tell.

EDIT: I'd say that's a pretty shitty CD to pay 30 bucks for.

Yikes.. I had a feeling it was too good to be true. Ah well.

I'm curious if people have purchased the game and/or what are people's thoughts? I think it's a great collection, and the only sad thing is that it does not include Super Mario World (why the hell not, I don't know... well, other than the fact that Nintendo is being cheap). I read that the 10 tracks that are included on the CD were hand picked by Koji Kondo as being his favorite (hence one track per game). I actually think it's nice that a CD was included at all, although for serious aficionados of game music it is a bit trite.

I picked this up for my sister and her husband. I too was kinda irked that World wasn't included, but I think it mainly has to do with the control schemes using the basic WiiMote. The first four Mario titles only use two buttons and the D-pad, while World needs the L and R buttons and at least one more button (for the twirl) I believe.

Not saying that's the reason, but it makes some sense.

I've dabbled a bit with it (haven't even glanced at the CD yet), but there's not much to say, is there?
It's a straight port of the SNES version.

The only thing that it reminded me of, coming straight out of the SMB3 hack of New Super Mario Bros on DS, is how INCREDIBLY SUPERIOR the controls were in the old Mario games.

Yeah, can't stress that enough.  It's literally the SNES cart on disc.  Total size is roughly 200 MB, most of that being the Wii system update files.

The soundtrack disc, while a nice collector's item, is kind of a cop out.  Would have been insanely more awesome if they included the full soundtrack to the four games on All-Stars in all their SNES sound chip glory.  These don't exist on any official release, right?  *pets his SPC sets*

The booklet, however, is the nicest part of this package and likely cost Nintendo more to produce than the game disc and soundtrack combined.

The game is sold out, and selling for around $70+ on eBay. Never, underestimate the power of nostalgia...

Really?  I was at Costco last week, and they had a ton of copies for $26.99 each.

Angela Dec 29, 2010

Same here.  Quite a few copies still available for retail price at Toys R Us.

I would be surprised if there are still copies left, but if so, you might consider stocking up! Online, all the stores are sold-out.
