I just watched the 2009 CG animated movie 9 a couple nights ago and couldn't help but be reminded of Panzer Dragoon on several occasions - not only by the brown'ish color palette and post-apocalyptic setting but also by particular enemies, characters (the guy with the eye patch reminded me of a character from Panzer Dragoon Saga) and even specific shots (one canyon scene in particular was very reminiscent of the PD1 intro).  Close enough to make me really think somebody involved in the production must have had some experience with Panzer Dragoon or else some shared influence between the two.

Any thoughts?  Besides the PD similarities it's a decent movie in its own right - the story and character development are average but the visual design is impressive and certainly unique.

This made me realize I have not played enough Panzer Dragoon.
