Yup, the first Phantasy Star was for the Master System.  Could you give a link to this "Genesis Collection"?  This is the first I've hard of it!

It was remade for the MD though. Looked exactly the same only it had FM music.

yup it was in a ltd edition format too when it came out - supposedly only so many were made for the Japanese Megadrive at the time too.

Ditto on requests for the Gen collection... I'd be most interested in seeing it too.

Apparently Joystiq got in trouble for reporting about it prior to the 15th. I assume then we'll know all. But if the article's title is to be believed, it'll be released here in November.

They were on about the Sega Ages Jap version being brought over and translated for the US re the updated versions of Phantasy Star 1, 2 and 4 on one compilation..... but I've not yet seen anything or heard anything for a while on that....!

The Genesis version of Virtua Fighter 2?? I'd much rather they do a Saturn collection and include VF2 there. Plus, I've always wanted to own a copy of Fighters Megamix.
