O.O I can't believe you ripped these songs! I was expecting clean versions on the OST but alas Capcom disappoints me. I look forward to listening to these soon.

Just wondering Angela what was your favorite little anime opening song. Mine personally was Vega's (Claw)

I thought it was two :(. I thanked you over AIM.

And so you did.  Apologies, I hadn't even seen this post until today.

I love Vega's, which makes it all the more a shame that he didn't get his own Rival theme in the game.  That piano rendition in Ken's Prologue is indeed sweet, as well as in Guile's Prologue.  And for some reason, hearing Blanka's Theme in his Ending made me smile. (Jimmy as a character in this game just totally rocks.  ^_^)

But nothing tops El Fuerte's Prologue/Epilogue themes.  I'd definitely try his Chanko Stew/Borsch fusion. :)

But take note that it's only a minute and a half long.  This is all mentioned in my review, by the way. wink

Just a heads-up, there were Exile CD singles released to coincide with The Legend of Chun-Li movie in Japan.  They each feature the full three minute-plus versions of their respective languages.  The only caveat is that they appear to be digital downloads only:

Thanks for the link, Angie. Gotta work on my sa's and ka's, for sure. tongue

For anyone interested, here are 128kbps rips of the CD single tracks:

Holy crap! I didn't even notice this link. You're a loose cannon, you know that, Angie? smile

I figured I should update this thread with the good news and the bad news regarding Sumthing Digital's U.S. release of the Street Fighter IV soundtrack.

The good news:  There's a U.S. release of the SFIV soundtrack.  And as you'd expect it's considerably cheaper than the Japanese one.

The bad news:  It's missing several tracks from the Japanese release.

Missing from disc 1:
2. The Next Door [1:34]
3. AC Mode Select Screen -Game Arrange- [0:59]
4. Character Select Screen - Game Arrange- [1:03]

Missing from disc 2:
1. The Next Door -Indestructible- [1:34]
7. Theme of C.Viper [3:02]
8. Theme of Abel [2:34]
9. Theme of Rufus [2:52]
10. Theme of El Fuerte [3:11]

I'm not a big fan of either version of Exile's "The Next Door" so no big loss there IMO, though it does kind of suck that the catchy Select Screen instrumental arrangements of it are gone.

The absence of all four major new character themes is somewhat more significant.  I quite like C.Viper and Rufus's themes and with those two in particular missing the second disc loses a great deal of its value.  I also wonder why in the world those would get cut while all the original stage themes from disc 1 are intact.  (I wonder if the U.S. edition's "Staff Role" medley is missing the new character themes as well.)

Anyhow here's the page for the soundtrack at Amazon (via STC's affiliate link) for those who want to check it out and/or buy it despite the deficiencies.

After listening to the album a couple of times, I'm not as pumped or impressed as I was initially. As my pusher said, "SF4 is one of those soundtracks that's AMAZING upon first listen but gradually loses its coolness the more you hear it", which I am starting to agree with. Crimson's stage theme still kicks serious ass, though.

Oh, hey Old Me. This is Future You. FYI, you were a total dick for not liking this album that much. It's kind of awesome.

And do either one of you have an opinion on Super IV?

So far, so good. I downloaded last night and made it through most of the stage themes and most of the classic character themes. I really, really enjoy what I've heard so far, but I'm not familiar with the other Capcom themes (pretty much anything after Dee Jay's), so I'll have to let those sink in at some point. Thanks for rippin' it up, Angie! Capcom should have totally released an official CD with this stuff on there.
