I picked up Anthology weeks ago, but have yet to play it much; for some reason, the Alpha series seems more fun for two-player competitive play (more than the original SF2 titles, anyway) - but I have no one to play with. In any case, I'll definitely be shooting to unlock Hyper SF Zero.
Yes, the Alpha series is great for two players -- definitely my favorite of the SF sub-series. We used to play for hours back when I was in college, but now that everyone has moved around and real life is upon us, we rarely play together anymore. That said, I did get to play an hour or so of two-player Hyper Alpha the other night and it's still very fun, though I'm rather disappointed that in Hyper Alpha there are only 2-3 unique backgrounds that are presented in a variety of pallet swaps. It doesn't really make sense since all the backgrounds are on the disc and Hyper Alpha gives you all the music from the entire SF2 and SFA series.
As for unlocking Hyper Alpha, it's pretty easy since you don't even have to get a good ending in the two versions of Alpha 3.

Only Hyper Alpha indicates that you are in it. But you know when you're in the alternate version of Alpha 3 because the character roster is much larger. One thing I don't understand is why SFA2 Gold is actually listed out as a separate title instead of just being an alternate version of SFA2 when there are so few differences between those two while the alternate version of Alpha 3 has tons of differences from the regular version.
