I think I will have to pick up Ys I and II as well.  I've greatly enjoyed Ys III on SNES, and I've played Ys VI, and got the english patched version of Oath in Felghana to work on my comp so I'm playing that too.. he he... (BTW anyone know if there is a project to make an english patch for Ys Origin? I haven't really gone looking for info on one if there is any.)  I've also watched the Ys I and II anime OVA's and I liked those as well.  So might as well go for it.

I should get Sin & Punishment one of these days...And I'll probably pick up Rearmed next week. I'd have done it today but I wound up jumping at Gamestop's 25%-off sale on some PSP titles.

P.S. I also have the Homebrew Channel, which of course lets me, *ahem*, bridge some deficiencies, but I still buy what I've waited for as it comes up. A tool I may be, but a guiltless one.

EDIT: Forgot Yoshi. A little sad, seeing as I may be the only person I know on the Eastern Seaboard that enjoys it.

Gonna have to relive that one, were there any changes/updates to the game?

I don't know, honestly. I'd never played the game before...

Would love to hear more about the VC Ys port!  How well did the redbook audio and cinemas sequences carry over?

That's because Yoshi's Cookie is like 100X better. smile

I've been reading that Ys I and II is the first PC Engine/TG-16 game not to have the weird fuzziness that all of them have had up until now.  Is this true?  Also... did they find a way to make the music loop normally or does it still stop and restart like the old redbook version?

It stops and restarts. I think if the music looped endlessly, I'd go mad. There's nothing wrong with the tunes, but there's not nearly enough of them to sustain the length of the game.

Near as I can tell, the game doesn't suffer from the fuzz filter.   Everything looks pound for pound like the Turbo original - which also includes the cinematics, Adam.

The redbook music quality does suffer a bit from the compression, though.  It's probably more noticeable to my ears since I've been listening to the original redbook so extensively these past few days.  It's still entirely serviceable, and a small price to pay for not hogging any more of your Wii's precious memory.
