It been released in the US and so what's the verdict? The problem is MOHH2 seems to be delayed until March 08 in the EU so will UC make up for it? Probably not, I guess.

It's decent. The story is good, but the game is quite difficult and the aiming isn't as precise as it should be, especially since the critical hit boxes are very unstable (note that other Wii games like Mario Galaxy and Link's Crossbow training have more precise aiming). Also, I disagree with all the Zapper bashing -- I think it's easier to play the game with the Zapper since it gives you a steadier aim.
I like difficult though not for the wrong reasons. The Zapper is released in the EU on 7th December and it looks like I'll pick one up. I CANNOT believe that MOHH2 is delayed until 2nd February or later. It's not like EA can't afford to bring it out yet. As far as I know there is no regional lock-out online but, once again, by the time it's released over here everyone stateside will have moved on THIS makes me LIVID. I'm probably going to get Ghost Squad as well in a vain attempt to cheer myself up for Xmas. BWii is set for 25th January if anyone European is interested.
I like it, seems decent enough... I've only had a chance to try it out for about an hour just to take a look at it since I'm so busy with Galaxy.
For a Wii shooting game, the remote pointing needs to be responsive. This is one of those games I would probably rent first.
Interesting to note is that Ghost Squad offers an optional mode where it attempts to create a light gun-esque feeling by removing the cursor and having you perform an additional calibration routine. If you choose this mode, you can score more points, but it's a little harder without the cursor. It works pretty well, though.
So I suppose the question now is Ghost Squad OR Umbrella Chronicles? Or both, maybe? The videos I've seen of GS though, seem to show the same death throws, levels and an overall repetitive game. Is UC varied enough (on first impression) ? Has anyone played the bit from the Resi film yet, which I've heard might be too nauseating to contemplate nevermind play. I also would like EVERYONE to complain to EA about the mistreatment of us EU gamers. Delayed until ??? = Whenever they can be arsed.
WHAT IS GOING ON???? I'VE JUST READ GHOST SQUAD IS ALSO DELAYED. AAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! WTF WTF WTF???
I played a few hours of Umbrella Chronicles. The fact that I don't have to put up with controlling RE movement beyond a little bit of camera scrolling is a relief for me. I think the aiming is just fine, it's meant to be difficult. The camera is shaky and reflects the characters actually moving. With a little practice, you can find and hit the critical points on enemies. I'll definitely want to pick this up. Consider it a cross between Resident Evil and Time Crisis, except you have no barriers to hide behind, and most of the time, you cannot counter or evade attacks. That latter part is probably the most annoying part about it, but that's the only real challenge presented by the game as I have found yet.

The most apt comparison for this game is the House of the Dead series. It too had a moving camera at times, but its accuracy was decent.
Has Wesker still got some unique hand-to-hand skills? I've just been playing Resi 4 and it would be a shame to lose them. I've never played House of Dead but I downloaded that Sin and Punishment game off the Virtual Console to see what on-rails plays like. Talking of Resi 4 post your best mercenaries scores. I'll post mine up tomorrow.

Ghost Squad is way more FUN than UC, but it's extremely short (about 20 minutes). The point of the game is to replay it many times to level up your character and find every hidden path through each of the game's three stages along with unlocking the huge amount of bonus weapons and costumes. My biggest complaint with Ghost Squad is that it's only in 4:3 and I have to manually switch my TV back when I play it.
I've played a lot more UC now, and I still dislike how damn hard it is, but the bosses are pretty cool and the story and atmosphere are very good. The problem with the critical hit boxes is that they're inconsistent. You can hover where you think they are and they appear for a fraction of a second and then vanish again.
From a shooting perspective, the fundamental difference between these two titles is that Ghost Squad is Virtua Cop style where 90% of the enemies die after a single shot whereas UC requires many, many hits to bring down a single enemy (unless you happen to nail the critical hit boxes). Reloading is also a pain in the ass in UC since you have to shake the controller pretty hard where in Ghost Squad you just point it off-screen.
My friend was having a hard time with the reload until I showed him you just have to tap sharply on the side of the wiimote to reload. You don't even have to tap very hard. Try it and see.
The critical target point in UC may be inconsistent, but at least you have unlimited handgun ammo. It's not like Dead Aim where you had to make just about every shot count, and all without so much as a laser sight.
