So, was I like the only one who genuinely enjoyed DK: King of Swing?  Just picked up the DS sequel today, and like its GBA predecessor, Jungle Climber takes a simple premise and seriously delivers TEH FUN.  The shoulder button control scheme hasn't changed a bit, but the tweaks and tightening of techniques certainly make for a better game.  For instance, you can do your rush attack on the fly, without having to charge up on the pegs, and even on the ground.  DK now auto-grabs and climbs up on ledges when you're close enough - and they've added Diddy as a sort of secondary character, where you can launch him at enemies and to hard-to-reach places where DK cannot tread.

This game is a massive collect-a-thon this time around, with an insane amount of things to gather and strive for in each level.  This really gives the title an added depth, other than just simply making your way through a stage.

Seriously addictive.  Like Picross DS, I try to promise myself to stop after one more round.... and then find myself taking on another right after.

Totally!!  I played through some of it this weekend and it was more fun than I've had in a while.  Everything was well done:  the remixes of David Wise's earlier stuff, the levels, and the graphics were all top-notch.  Highly recommended.

Did you check out the "Glass Labyrinth" level yet?  Pretty clever use of the dual-screens there. :)

Yeah, where you have to control two Donkey Kongs?  It was pretty nice.  Although, some of the extra levels that Funky Kong takes you are downright frustrating!

I just got through "Spooky Woods."  Even neater usage of the dual-screen; I was getting a real Harry Potter Marauder's Map feeling there.  ^_^

I haven't tried any of the extra Funky levels yet, but the ever-progressing addition of new gameplay elements make for pleasant spice and excellent challenges.
